About Lava Ceramics

Lava is a naturally occurring alumina silicate ceramic material. In its unfired state, lava is easily machined, but after firing, it develops higher hardness. Fired lava can be used at temperatures up to 1150°C, and has very good thermal and electrical insulating properties.

Lava Ceramics Applications

  • Feed-through insulators
  • Special furnace shapes
  • Tooling for ceramic machining
