Custom Optical Windows

Application:  Optical instrument designers often find themselves facing challenges that off-the-shelf optics simply cannot accommodate within the given space constraints or performance envelopes. This is the case with the custom optical window CiDRA® Precision Services, LLC manufactures for one of our instrumentation customers. This window allows laser light to probe samples housed in a controlled environment.

Features:  We start from a raw borosilicate blank of material, apply optical coatings and then core drill and step grind the window to within 50um tolerances. All flat surfaces are polished using standard double sided polishing techniques, but polishing the step ground surface uses a proprietary process CiDRA® Precision Services, LLC developed over the past few years just for applications like this one.
